Our big French adventure – Day 5 – the journey home

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Hi all,

We got up early on Monday.. the journey home was relatively un-eventful (well compared to the national transport strike on the journey in.. :) ).

i'm ready to go home now..

I arrived in Annecy and we had another walk around the lake, town and up the hill to the church and chateaux and it was very beautiful. heres a pic of the girls in Annecy by the lake. I was hoping the market would be there but I think its not on Monday and many shops are shut on a Monday.. very European.. its the same in Holland.. i did want to buy a sausage .. just to prove to sarah I could indeed buy a sausage in France… !:) I couldnt find a boulangerie open though so .. it’ll have to be next time..

Our big French adventure – Day 1 – Does Paris have it in for the Palmer’s?..

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Hi all,

Good heavens.. what a little adventure we have had. ! :)

First there was Mutti and the arabs.. then Mark and Ros and the car being broken into.. and dad and the briefcase/passport stolen,

and this time the French threw a train, bus and tram strike for us!

you have to laugh… Its a good thing we had 4 1/2 hours to get between stations and my group of google maps to get there..

Well the day started well (as it does when you are blissfully ignorant of whats going on in Paris :) ).. we got to the station with plenty of time to spare, everything going well.. we found our seat.. (more…)

Our big French adventure and a little prayer request

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Hi all,

The girls and I are off to Chamonix tomorrow to Russell and Sarah’s wedding on Saturday.

We are taking the Thalys to Paris.. yes the same Paris where Kens briefcase/passport was stolen (and I’m sure weakened his heart that shortened his life) and the same Paris that Mark and Ros’s car was broken into and yes the same Paris where mutti tells me she had trouble with the arab men (must have been annoying enough for her to remember 50 years later!).. not forgetting its also full of french people! so please send a quick prayer up there that we travel safely through Paris.

We will be there about 4 hours.. ! (more…)
